Hello All: I began my Hoya journey approx 4 years ago. Both Hoya Princess and Queen were bought then, from cuttings. As you can see they are still alive and seem healthy but they’re quite small and have not bloomed to date. I read they were slow growers but this seems extreme. I have only repotted them once, they’re in loose chunky soil and are in a south facing window with blinds. So, usually no full on soil if it’s too hot. I water them every 14-20 days depending on the season. Plus, I feed them liquid fertilizer mostly spring/summer. Am I missing something? FYI, I have 15 Hoyas and 50% have bloomed and all are in good health. I welcome any advice. 🙂

    Two to three weeks is a long time for pots that small to dry out even in a high humidity environment like mine. I would verify there is no standing water in the ceramic pots after watering. You got other hoyas to bloom. So, I assume the lighting is good. These may need more light if no issues with the fertilizing frequency. Both plants look pale or it’s a camera result. Fertilize all year if they are pale. Just reduce the strength in colder months. I add SuperThrive plant vitamins to the fertilizer liquid. I add rooting hormone powder with each repot. Keep the temperature in the warm range to encourage growth. 🪴🍀

      Sunny, you are a Hoya Goddess. They have recently become pale. Truly, I appreciate all of the useful tips. No standing water; I empty every watering. I’m going to institute all of your plant recommendations. 🤞🏾 Thank u for the fine advice. 🪴😊

    I have the same problem with the Krimson queen, sap sucking pest problems. First Hoya I got 2 1/2 years ago. Now I have almost 50 different types, but this one is a pain in the rear. Just repot it today, I’m throwing it out this summer if it continues to be a pain. 😁 you’re not alone.

      My Hoya Krimson Queen was one of the first hoyas I bought in 2023. I got one about 3 years old after discussing with the grower that older hoyas bloom more readily. It was gorgeous even if it didn’t bloom. But, it put out two lovely peduncles after less than a year of owning it. That’s when the mealybugs squatted on it for life. I tried all the common treatments and the unorthodox methods including Raid pesticide out of desperation. I gave up the fight after 2 months when the plant kept deteriorating and the bugs repeatedly came back. I tossed it to protect my other plants😭

    Winnie, I’m pleased to know that it’s not just me but by nature these particular Hoyas are a bit temperamental. I’m going to institute Sunny’s recommendations and see if this turns their “moody ways” around. 🤞🏾 You have an impressive sized collection. Hope ur Queen begins to thrive. 😊
