I got this hoya as a gift and I was thinking about cutting this long part and starting some new plants. There are 5 nodes that don't have leaves and just don't know if I should just cut the one above the 2 leaves or if I should do more. What do you think. Thanks for the info and help
The peduncles and blooms typically come from the long bare runners. I would not cut that one. I recommend cutting the shorter bare vine next to it. The photo shows one of my Hoya Nummularioides and its first peduncle on the mostly bare vine. It’s in a 2 inch pot.
Wow thanks. I have several hoyas but never had one bloom yet. Most are very young but I can't wait to get a bloom they are so pretty
1 Like Get a Hoya Nummularoides. They bloom like crazy starting September with the majority of the blooms coining out in October and blooming for several weeks. My Hoya Krohniana, several Lacunosas and an ever blooming Heuschkeliana bloomed all summer after putting them outside to get direct morning sun until about 11am when they were in bright shade the rest of the day. Only one hoya bloomed inside before this. I got 12 to bloom last summer in direct morning sunlight. Fertilizing and not keeping them dry too long while they bloomed helped, I believe. 🪴🍀
Great thanks. I have a great place I can put the outside for morning sun and indirect sun the rest of the day. Now I just need the weather to cooperate. Lol
1 Like Slowly acclimate them to direct sun by gradually increasing the time they are exposed to direct sun. I fried several leaves at the beginning. 🤣

0 LikesIf no leaves I’d cut and lay in a prop box of perlite or moss. If it’s got leaves I put in water.
