My Hoya Bella is in bloom and it’s my first Hoya bloom ever! 😱 I only have a few of this genus in my collection, but I get the hype now and think I need more lol. Any recs? Please share your faves!

FriendofVegDepending on what you like (big leafs, small, all about the flowers, etc). Bella can be finicky so if you’ve got her flowering you’re on a good path!

Oh really, that’s good to hear! I like variety so some bigger leaves would be cool, and flowers that are unique and/or really fragrant. If they’re easy-ish to take care of, that would be great too!

Gabrielle’s JardinYes, the flowers are what turned me into a Hoya head! The Krimson queen was my first and when it bloomed for me it smelled amazing!

KatomaroseKrimson princess and Krimson queen are actually both just different variegated Hoya carnosa and all have the same flowers.

Nice to hear someone else mention them by their true name of Hoya Carnosa either inner or outer variegation, not by the old names of krimson princess and queen.

Hoya wayetii is my favorite! It has long thin leaves with dark margins and it blooms a dark magenta red.

My next Hoya on my wishlist is Hoya polyneura. I love the deep green foliage and the way it drapes when it's mature.

I want a none variegated H. polyneura and I want to grow it in lower light so the foliage gets deep dark green 💚

cherrbear🐻my heuschkeliana bloomed for the first time for me recently & has a whole bunch of active peduncles now! the blooms are so cute & weird & smell like a combination of buttered popcorn & greek yogurt 😆 in the best way! & it’s been such a happy, steady grower. highly recommend! i also have the inner variegated but it grows at a snail’s pace 🥲

my chicken farm is also about to bloom for the first time & i hear it’s an easy bloomer. he has 4 active peduncles right now! if you’re looking for a big leaf guy.

I think you started with one of the best. If you want something that blooms almost continually. Try the Hoya multiflora. It’s an up right hoya that I have on stake. As it gets taller it leans way over. Not training just leans. So intake. Mine is over two feet tall.enjoy your Bella.
