I found a spreadsheet on the types and most of the scents of many Hoyas, but I want input from people that really know. I want to order a Hoya that smells butterscotch like. I was thinking Hoya kentiana. (My plant parent level is intermediate. I live in zone 6a but I keep my house between 60-80 degrees and 40% or more humidity.) Anyone have one in this group?

Hoya Heuschkeliana smells like butterscotch. It smells like buttered popcorn when the blooms are close to the nose. It’s also a prolific bloomer. Mine has bloomed daily since April.

Thank you for the picture of her, she’s lovely. (Is the scent strong or would it overwhelm a small room?)

It’s not a strong smell. You have to be close to it, within a foot, to notice a buttery scent even with such a big plant in full bloom. (Zoom in to see a peduncle every 2”- 3” on every vine.) It should be ok for a small room. You can see the size compared to the brick size. Waldo the Lizard is on the top. This kitchen window is his territory! This photo was taken August 24th.

That lizard! Love him, I live near a bird sanctuary and there are no edible ground animals left thanks to the birds of prey. Sometimes there are frogs or doves but they get eaten too

Oh my goodness! I live on the Texas Gulf coast which is mostly at sea level! So, the entire area is a bird sanctuary. Herons nested and hatched 3 loud chicks this spring! They are no match for these old ancient lizards who know which one of my dogs love to chase them. They only run away when my black and white dog comes out. They just stay alert and not run when I or my other dog, his brother, comes outside. 😂
