Got my first Hoya today ! Yay ! It’s small but it’s about to flower so I’m really happy ! Any advice for growing them ? Species is a Hoya Australia

    i like growing my hoyas in a chunky soil mix (equalish parts fox farm ocean forest, tree fern fiber, coco chunks, orchid bark, horticultural charcoal & chunky pumice. maybe i overdo it a bit 😆 molly’s aroid mix is similar with less work) or pon! i water when mostly dry & fertilize regularly. they typically like bright light. hoya australis is one of the few hoya that grows kinda upright rather than vining but i’ve seen some people have viny ones if they get lower light, i think because there is more internodal spacing. i like the bushy look on these tho! i’m surprise this little guy has a peduncle already, is it behind one of the leaves?

    I’ve read that it’s not good to have rocks on top of the soil as it can be difficult to spot any infestations or soil issues.
