Just took this home from Home Depot. It was just marked as “Hoya”. Can someone help me identify this one, please? Is it a tricolor? Or just variegated maybe? Thanks!

      Give it more light and it'll be a tricolor. Some people change the names to sell it for a higher price, but basically this is a 'Crimson Princess'. Although, the variegation pattern is more "streaky" so it could be a variety of 'Crimson Princess', I just don't know which, it gets really complicated and sometimes for no reason. I just say 'Crimson Princess'. If the variegation is on the outside, then it's a 'Crimson Queen'.

    Hi! This is Hoya carnosa (inner variegated) You May hear it (“incorrectly”) called KRIMSON PRINCESS. That is a trademark (expired) but it’s still widely used like Kleenex is used for tissues. Names like tricolor, exotica, rubra etc. are old patent and circulated names that most every one these days would not know exactly what they have if any. Hence the name I gave you 😊 Hope this helps.

    I wish they got more specific with some of these labels instead of just hoya. Pro tip for future reference even tho this isn't proven winners brand: the proven winners website contains their scientific name when you search, but they do like to give them cute little names for marketing purposes. I just like to get the word out there about that because a lot of people do ask abt that specific brand name. The rest i cant really say. Home depot is usually not very specific with their types. She's a beauty btw :))

      I usually don’t buy them unless they’re labeled with the full species/genus, but this one was so pretty, I couldn’t resist!

    I have one like this but with lots of pink in there so i think mine is a Tricolor. If you give it very good lighting you will get some pink colors too. These are so easy. They like to just sit in some light and look gorgeous lol
