   be careful not to overwater!! since most hoya’s have waxy, thick leaves. they don’t need water often!!

   Research potting mix, I usually pot my hoyas in a mix of soil and orchid bark, like more than half orchid bark because they don't appreciate smothered roots, they need some air. They like water but they like to dry out between waterings. And I don't have a kerrii but I believe they like higher light levels, especially a variegated one which will have a harder time getting enough light because it can only utilize part of the leaf.
