I suspected my Hoya sp. SR 2007-13, Loei Province (Thailand), had flat mites because it didn’t put out new growth after arriving months ago. Plus, it had small lumps at the ends of the vines. I never found any mites. I even cut off a mushroom shaped lump and found nothing. I thought I had no fate with it until I moved it into bright morning sunlight. It also got 3 days of heavy rain. Then, it’s started to sprout new growth and grew a new leaf. I’m estatic! I’m going to give it filtered or rain water and keep it in direct sunlight. 💕🪴💕

    @ Sunny, congratulations on your new growth. My eyes can’t tell what that “lump” is. Maybe it was the start to a peduncle? Hope not, even if it was, another should grow back. Next time, leave it and see if it starts to develop buds. Here is an example of my H. Rangsan. These peduncle remnants are dried out (too much) but these are remnants of when she last flowered. Try to leave them on because if they are, flowers will blossom next time around. Or not depending on the Hoya temperament. Happy Hoya growing.

      I sliced that ball shaped growth and found more green stem material. The stalk it’s attached to is a branch that has corked over. It’s very stiff and woody. Not a peduncle. The cut section formed another ball on the new cut. I believe the plant is protecting the cut by corking. I’ve never seen it like this. The stem has not grown. See the latest photos. She has more than doubled in height in four months.
