FINALLY getting a new leaf on the kerrii that I got late last summer. Not to jinx it lol. It dropped an adult leaf before I got it. Then dropped a pair of baby leaves the first week I had it. A second set of leaf nodes started to grow a while after that but then dropped one at a time. This node only seems to have activated on one side, but I’m really cheering for it! Maybe the trellis did the trick? I had a few people suggest one but I didn’t take it seriously at first 😅

The trellis really does work for most Hoyas as some won’t leaf out until it’s anchored to something. The loss of new baby leaves could be an issue with watering. Although Kerii like to dry out a bit, is it possible that you are letting it dry out too long?

It’s possible! This is my third Hoya and I got them all last year so I was still figuring out what they like and don’t like. I think I’ve gotten a feel for it now. My Lisa still drops a leaf every now and then though. I think I need to move that one to a different pot. It’s currently in glazed ceramic and I think it would prefer terracotta like the kerrii has. Or plastic maybe. The nice thing about plastic pots is being able to gage how dry it is by how light the pot is. I mean, I still poke the dirt to feel for moisture, but if the ceramic pot is pooling liquid at the bottom, the plant will be affected without me knowing there’s a problem
