Plant got what I presumed was root rot and this is the only clipping i could save the rest was brown and mushy this stem was green and stiff still so I bagged it with a moist paper towel and placed under a grow light is that enough to save it

    If you have sphagnum moss it will grow roots right into it really fast. Hoya cuttings can last a long time left alone in nothing actually. If the stem is still healthy, which it looks like yours is, it’s fine. A paper towel might get a little funky over time and I’m not sure how fast roots would grow if any. Any loose medium like coco husk/coir, perlite even would work to help it grow roots. If it struggles you may want to cut it into smaller pieces and use some rooting hormone on the cuts before putting it into your sphagnum or medium of choice.

      Yes, agree a paper towel will start to get moldy.. sphagnum moss is great 😁👍🏻

      not sure if I should cut it or wait to see what happens mine was pretty long before low light too but by the time I checked that was all I could save

    You can cut it into three pieces and propagate each pieces. I use SuperThrive plant vitamins when propagating in water. I use rooting hormone powder when using other potting medium.

    Rooting in sphagnum moss is great 😁👍🏻 I use rinsed out lunch meat containers, you know the kind? Turkey slices ect come in.. clear container/red lids.. They’re great with slightly damp moss & place the cuttings right on top, and put the lid right back on if they’re small. If they’re bigger I don’t put the lid on & just keep the moss dampened.. Check weekly to make sure the moss is still damp & not smelling funky.. I rooted my Hoya that way & it’s doing well 😁

    Update I went with some damp perlite on a tray currently under my grow light

      How often do you water with them being in the perlite?

    Just wanted to add that cheap plastic shower caps make great humidity domes. Just use a chopstick or something to help prop it up. The fact that it’s elastic around the bottom really helps.
