Tell me what you use for fertilizer specifically for your Hoya. I need to purchase some soon and the one I was using I can’t seem to source in my location in Canada any more. Need to find a new go to.

i mix worm castings in my hoya soil and top off older plants with more castings once a year or so. as for regular fertilizing, i use joyful dirt’s all purpose (foliage focus- 8/1/5) for the most part but supplement with fish bone meal (down to earth brand) for blooming plants, it’s incredibly high in phosphorus with a small amount of nitrogen. both brands i believe are available in canada as well

I moved my hoya to a chunky coco and use super thrive in my water and it's finally throwing out so many new leaves. I also chopped it to get more than one. It was gifted to me from a friend that was moving and originally in water.

I guess I also broke a new leaf at some point. Whoops.

I add worm castings when repotting…and all my plants are growing like crazy using Espoma.

I use a company in Portland Oregon called rooting for you. She makes all her own plant specific soil mixes. No fertilizer suggestions. Sorry friend! I’ve heard osmocote is a good long term fertilizer option.

Hey Cherry, I have a question.. You and I use the same media, Im curious whether you fertilize year round due to the coco husks/coir, etc having no nutrients. I've cut the strength in half w/my fert because im still seeing growth, but im not sure if I should give them just water at some point this winter.

Hey Amy, I do fertilize all year round especially when I see new growth. In my opinion the stopping in winter is a myth from back in the day but we are giving them pretty much the same growing conditions all year round indoors with grow lights, humidity and warmth so they will keep growing and would struggle without fertilizer. At least that is how I see it.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion. Definitely the most logical approach. 💚💚
