Hi I’ve never grown a Hoya, this one has the same name as my wife so I want to buy it. But I’m not sure what’s important. I have these two options. One has 3 healthy leaves and one is kind of branchy but has a peduncle. The single leaf is 33% cheaper so there is a considerable price difference. Is the peduncle more important or having multiple leaves?

Hello! This is more of a preferential question. I think it depends on the context of the gift? But in terms of which plant is more healthy, both are. The three-leaved option is more of an aesthetic choice. I have two propagating Hoya carnosa that have been in water since 2022. One leaf propagation and one leaves+stem. This is what I have learned: as long as they have the moisture needed, they don’t want to be touched until they’ve dried out
unless they’re in water? The root system will match the level of water in the container. (To get around the nutrient deficiencies, every month I add a grain or two of fertilizer during the summer.) They smell absolutely stunning though. It’s a slow grower in Canada and still worth the patience!

I went with the three leaves due to shipping being rough on plants, having only one leaf seems risky for the mail.

That was probably a good choice, In my limited Hoya experience, I’ve never had a peduncle on a cutting rebloom, I suspect that Hoya need a bucketload of stable roots to bloom.
