I’ve had my hoya for a couple months now, and it finally grew a new leaf a couple weeks ago. However, the leaf is distorted and small. The whole plant has become droopy, and the leaves feel floppy. Initially the plant was in very hard, compacted soil, which I believe led to water draining through the pot without any moisture being retained in the soil. I repotted it into a faster draining mix. The roots looked healthy. Since then, it’s continued to droop. It’s not getting better or worse, and it’s been a couple of weeks now. I don’t want to water it again in case it has been overwatered, but I really don’t know why it’s not getting any better.

    My rule with Hoyas or any waxy leaf is if the leaves aren’t wrinkled or flexible, I don’t water. Since it gave you a new leaf and has healthy roots, I’d assume it’s doing well and recovering, probably adjusting to the repot. Give it a little extra attention to be sure :)

      Thank you!!! For some reason this Hoya is stressing me out more than my “finicky” plants like calatheas 😂

      You’re so welcome :) It took me a little while to understand the language of Hoyas or any succulent for that matter. I base waterings on the firmness of the leaves! If they’re firm, I don’t water. If they’re flexible/wrinkled, I water them. When I do water, I drown them a little bit, lol
