This is a one year progress of my Hoya Imperialis plants. I bought two small plants last year during the end of season sales (Gabriella Plants). I repotted from 3” to 4” pots and moved them outside this summer. They get 4 hours of direct morning sunlight and afternoon bright shade. That’s all they needed to quickly grow and start branching! The blooms (red, white) will be very large and this drives the price. They are worth the sales price just for the growth.

Their shiny leaves are more flexible and thinner than the typical hoya. They can stand without a trellis for awhile as the vines become stiff while the new growth tips are bendy. It’s important to shape it to structure before the vines stiffen or you will have to crop it to get new bendy vines. Don’t procrastinate like me!😅
