Mr VariegatedWish you would have done a bit of research before buying these. These are kind of a scam. They won’t grow. If lucky you will just keep it alive for a bit. Plant shops sell these during Valentine’s Day. They cute, sometimes not cheap, and don’t do anything but eventually die. I think it’s a scam to sell a Hoya leaf that won’t turn into a plant.

I’m sorry I don’t mean to burst your bubble. I bet when you saw this you were happy, (like my daughter was), and the seller was happy with a smile taking your money knowing… that upsets me.

I appreciate your honesty! I learned about the probably of them dying after ordering them and they were not too expensive. They do have roots so hopefully they will continue to grow.

SunnyThe need to have a stem and root nodes to have a chance of producing a branch with leaves. My leaves are older leaves dying off. But, they show the leafstalk (petiole) with no nodes. This could grow roots, if healthy, but won’t put out leaves without leaf nodes. Remove the soil around the stem if you have nodes. This gives a new growth a better chance of survival. 🍀💚

Wolfen 🐺I have one that has grown, has 5 leaves now. But it just happened to have a nub of a node on it. It does happen, it's just unlikely, due to the fact they just want the zombie leaf that looks like a heart for valentine day sales

Yeah it most likely won’t last unless you see it has an extra node or two and then it’s got a chance to grow. So check the stem and see if any nodules. But it is very he valentine scam. Big box retailers shouldn’t be allowed to sell them unless they can grow
