I've had this Hoya for a few months now and have gotten no new growth. I'm new to hoyas, are the slow growers or am I doing something wrong? It gets watered when soil is mostly dry, fertilized regularly, and under grow lights.

Some are super slow growers, some grow like crazy. Just depends on the species really. Pubicalyx usually have thicker leaves, meaning they retain more water in them. You can probably let it dry completely before watering. I check with a wooden skewer, and then do a gentle leaf fold. If they’re soft and folding easily then I water. If they’re still somewhat stiff then I wait.

SunnyI have two varieties in 6” pots that grow too well even in winter. Both of mine were 6” to 12” from a grow light while inside. They spent last summer outside on my northeast facing wall. They got 5 hours of direct morning sunlight each day. The hoyas around them bloomed. Those two were just happy running tendrils on my window screens. I recommend putting a grow light within a foot of the plant or place it in a south windowsill to get filtered sunlight. I fertilize twice a month with 50% diluted fertilizer in summer and less in winter. I add SuperThrive plant vitamins to the water. I verify the soil dried completely . Then, I wait a couple days more before watering. My photos show the Hoya Pubicalyx Pink Silver climbing the bug screen.
