Two of my Hoya Mathilde cuttings put out about 2 to 3 peduncles each for the first time. I about 90% sure they cross pollinated with the Hoya Lacunosa they are hanging near. The Hoya Wayetti ( not Kentiana) put out a second peduncle. The Hoya Lacunosa dropped its only seed pod. I’m not sure if the pod matured enough to produce viable seeds. East morning sun and high humidity is a must to get my hoyas to bloom. I just put the Mathildes in that location less than a month ago. The ones inside under a big grow light and in lower humidity are only putting out new leaves. 🌸

East you say? Hm I don’t have many eastern windows 🤔 I currently have mine in southern windows. They’re growing, just no flowers. But they’re also not very mature for hoyas, so that might be contributing too I recently broke the lead off my kerii by accident 😭 Hopefully it’ll start a new growth point soon. My lisa has been just getting by for over a year. I keep meaning to put it in different pot because my leading theory is that the soil stays too stodgy in the glazed ceramic. My retusa is very happy though ☺️

Maturity is likely a factor. South facing should be good since the light is very bright. Maybe the room temperature is too cool. It’s ridiculously humid and warm (90°F+) outside my house. I’m in a subtropical area of South Texas. I have about 20 hoyas inside. Some are mature in 6 inch pots and under bright grow lights. None have bloomed indoors. I assumed the 75°F indoor temperature is too low. I don’t even know. All of mine are in plastic pots. The mix drains very well.

Ah, they must love Texas! I’m in New Hampshire lol. My poor plants hardly have a chance to recover from winter before summer is over again 😮‍💨 But I do my best to compensate and get them as much heat, humidity, and light as I can in my current living space

Just read the plant sold to me last summer as a Hoya Kentiana is really a Hoya Wayetti because of the green peduncle and flower stems (pedicils)! Kentiana has darker red stems. I bought it for the dark edged all green foliage. So, I’m not hurt. It’s yellow because of sun stress right now.
