The top two leaves on my Hoya have come in purple. Is that a good thing or bad thing? I have to admit that I have two Hoyas and they definitely aren’t my favorite plants so I’m not that knowledgeable of them.

They change as they mature and harden off. Totally normal for this one :)

Thank you. I don’t know why I find my Hoyas more challenging than my other plants. Are they typically more difficult? I think I just doing innately sense what they need like my other plants. It helps to be reassured that they’re doing ok!

SunnyThey are my easiest plants to raise. That’s why I can raise 70 of them. They are low maintenance given good lighting, consistent diluted fertilizer in the growing season and water as soon as their chunky soil dries. They don’t do well in standard potting mix that contains peat moss or heavy soil. They like lots of air around their roots like orchids. They live climbing trees in their native environment getting water from rain runoff from the trees and with shallow root systems compared to other tropicals. So, let the chunky soil dry out between watering. Lighting is important for fast growth. My hoyas get direct morning sunlight for about 5 hours a day in summer. They get filtered south light indoors in winter months. They grow like weeds. I’ve gotten about 20 to bloom outside in summer. My Hoya Multiflora never stops blooming. 🪴🍀

Wow 70!!! Thank you for the advice! You have to be an expert level to care for so many. How many plants do you have total?
