I recently repotted and restaked my Hoya Kerrii and in the process I damaged it… now I don’t know what to do. I know she’ll bounce back but many of the teeny baby leaf sprouts were significantly damaged and turned black, so I cut them off… the tiniest little touch to those baby leaves just destroyed them and I’m so sad!!! A few healthy leaves snapped off. Some of the older leaves also took damage because I did this while the Hoya was thirsty… clearly a very bad idea. The softer leaves when pressed against anything accidentally got crinkled strangely and now that it’s been a day have gone all brown and thin. There’s only one upside to the damage. I know from experience that when the stem ‘bleeds’ a bit from bending, it significantly encourages new shoots, and within a month or so I always see an explosion of new growth in that area…. So I do expect her to bounce back soon. Still, I guess let this be a cautionary tale, because I lost so many leaves… Hoya are very hardy, but extremely delicate at the same time. Luckily I didn’t lose any peduncles 🫠 Anyone have big/heavy Hoya repot tips??
