Hello. I’m new to this group and to planting. I have an offshoot from my thriving Rose of Sharon that I’m trying to propagate but it’s not looking great. I have holes in the cup, good potting soil mixed with a little coco peat soil, and in part sun on my back porch (south facing zone 9). The first day she looked perky, like she stood a chance, but now she’s just droopy. Two days ago I bought growth hormone and dunked the tip in and replanted. Any insight is appreciated! Thanks

Could probably use more humidity. Like a prop box situation with misted sides. Keep the soil always moist and believe it or not, less light. Prop box will provide that. Plants seek darkness for root formation. I think Planta has a plant problems group that might be a better resource for you than the Hoya group. 😊

Ok. I’ll try that. Planta suggested the Hoya group for this plant but I’ll search for something else. The only other group I found was “Anything About Plants” and that’s hit or miss. Thank you for the advice!

I think there’s a general houseplant group, too. But in Arkansas where I’m from, Rose of Sharon is an outdoor shrub - never knew it could be a houseplant.

Yes, this offshoot came from a shrub I have, more like a tree, really, so I’m trying to grow a new one. She’s not looking good.

I did see a group called propagating and sowing. I saw another group called pest diseases and problems. Didn’t mean to dissuade you. Hoyas are such a different kind of plant. 💕
