Basil Advice?

Hi everyone, I think I may have killed my basil?
I've been growing it outside (New England area) and it was thriving. Then I tried harvesting some of the basil. I watched videos online telling me to cut off some of the stalks above the node and trimmed it down some. Since then, it's been turning brown and dropping leaves. There are still a few green stalks on the plant, but they're all growing out of brown stalks. Does anyone know what I did wrong? Is there any hope for her, or is she definitely dead?

From what I saw in these photos, I can tell you that your basil plant is old and it is normal for it to die soon. Basils are annual plant. Good luck in the next season!

What’s she said, but I also noticed you’ve let some flowered, and you should snip those off before they even get to the that point. Cause the plant pour it’s energy to the flowers instead of the basil leaves. So, next time, definitely snip off those. And good luck!

How it should look when you snip them off, as soon as it start flowering. 😊

Oh! What time 🕰️ f year do they die? How can I get continuous basil? If I take cuttings and repot will that work?
