I was gifted this purple basil and first want to know if I identified the right one since it looks like there are two types of them. Then should I switch the pot so it has drainage? Any advice and help would be appreciated. Would it benefit from being on the patio or ok inside close to the door?

The plant needs drainage. The roots will rot in a container with no drainage.
