Something is de string my tomatillo plants! They appear to be rotting from the bottom up and maybe from the inside out… Any ideas of what problem or pest could be causing this?

Usually rotting like that is a watering issue. Staying to wet

The leaves on my Tomatillo plant dried up after they flowered so I brought the container of them inside. Several tomatillos matured inside while the plants looked dead.
