Watermelons are harder to grow if they’re not starting in the ground. They look great so far though! #### Julia replied on 2024-04-03 Thanks! Do you have any suggestions on if they will thrive in a planter of some sort? Our patio is concrete minus the sides which are lined with rocks. Thanks 😊 ### Steven S commented on 2024-04-03 I just started my watermelon seeds in a large Home Depot black plastic box. I bought a bag of gromulch and 2 bags of topsoil and filled it up. It’s not going to be easy from what I hear but it’s worth a shot. They love direct sun and a lot of heat. Yes my watermelon is getting plenty of sun and water. I just ordered some grow bags.
