# Sooo I just trimmed the runners off of my potted strawberry plants.…

Sooo I just trimmed the runners off of my potted strawberry plants. My plants grew like two strawberries and then stopped flowering. Then I noticed all of this new growth happening - the runners. I let a few of them get established, but today I went out and trimmed them all off in hopes of maybe getting a few more berries this year, or at least next season the mother plant will be more focused on berry production. My question is, will what I did with the runners work? I placed the few that had already established roots into another pot and just barely covered the roots with soil, leaving all of the leaves uncovered. I mean, I planted them super shallow. Is this going to work?! Should I do anything differently?
I threw the rest of the runners that hadn’t quite grown any roots yet in my back yard along the fence. Would they have a chance of rooting into the ground naturally or will they just rot there on the ground where I tossed them? Lol it’s my very first time growing strawberries and I’m new to this whole gardening thing in general anyway so any advice is appreciated! Thanks!
