What am I doing wrong. I have cut back on watering and have tried different lighting methods and I just can’t get it to stay healthy

Cactuses 🌵 need light. Lots of it. Lots of light = water  
In my experience, cactuses like their soil to dry out before another watering. Just don’t let the soil dry out for too long.

I water it about every two weeks, should I go longer?

Check the roots for root rot

Does the pot have proper drainage? Is it in an area that has a draft? Is it too cold by the window?

I keep mine by my window and water once the soil is dry… been working so far for me :)
