# I want to show that you’re not alone with your “Why is my cactus…

I want to show that you’re not alone with your “Why is my cactus leaning?” concerns (see Reddit posts). There is a difference between “I need more light, and I’m going to contort to find it” and, “I’m genetically prone to lying down, here I go.” Some Mammillaria (and Echinopsis etc.) do this, and I defied my plant for many months until giving it a brace. I mean it isn’t reaching for the window as much as it is creating real estate for wool and blooms and whatever the heck is next.

It’s really cool. 😍 I would prop it up trying to make it grow upright and turn it into the Leaning Tower of Pisa against its will.
