HELP! DESPERATE!

This is GSPO. The only cacti to survive me for multiple years (going on 6 or 7?). He's lived in this fish tank forever without any problems but one of my last waterings did too much and I think there is mold. (Amazoned a real container to be here tomorrow)
QUESTION: what special things do I need to do before the repot? Alcohol or anything?

This cactus is my life.

(No my blind is not normally closed. Yes I know he is leaning mainly due to 6 new sprouts.)

Rinse the roots and carefully remove as much soil as possible. Soak roots in a 1:4 solution of 3% hydrogen peroxide and room temp water for 20 mins. Let it sit out to dry for at least 3 days (depends on the roots system) in well lit area with lots of airflow without exposure to heat, AC or direct sun. You want the roots to dry out completely before repotting. After repotting, don’t water for about week. If you have any other questions, we’ll try to figure it out.

What are you repotting it in and what type of soil?

I did a temporary repot in its new home today. The mold was luckily no where near the roots.
I will still be doing all that you said when I get my soil (didn't have enough to fill the new one)
I am repottting into a 7 inch thin plastic pot with drainage holes on the bottom. I use miracle grow cacti and succulent mix (but if you have a better suggestion I'll take it!)

I’m so happy your repotting it 😊 it’s actually cool looking. So what you’re using is fine. I suggest amending the soil with perlite so it’s more free draining. I personally like a really gritty mix. This is one of the mediums I use.

This is Espoma cactus mix but I also use miracle grow and amend it heavily depending on the pot and cactus.
