# But why? She just dropped her leaves one day and croaked. Im so sad.…

But why? She just dropped her leaves one day and croaked. Im so sad. I never even knew what type of succulent she truly was. I followed proper soil, light and and watering schedule, or so I thought. Planta didnt diagnose, so anyone know?

Your succulent likely succumbed to root rot from overwatering, as dropping leaves and a soft, "croaking" state are common signs of too much moisture, which suffocates the roots. Even with proper schedules, you might have overwatered, especially if your potting soil retains too much water, the pot lacks drainage, or it experienced high humidity, causing leaves to become plump, yellow, and eventually fall off.

She was in a mishmosh pot of various succulents on clearance at Lowes. During repotting her roots seemed stunted, but Im unfamiliar with (propeller or pigsear?). Whats crazy is I live in the desert and rarely overwater. So sad, but thanks everyone.
