I was recently thinking about moving some of my plants outdoor where they will have optimal sunlight like recommended. However, I live in AZ and the city I live in can get heat upwards of 112°F or 44.5°C in the summer. Luckily the high right now in Spring is only 80ish. Is this a good idea? I’m worried that the harsh heat will kill the plants. What should I do?

Definitely depends on which plant, but yes 112 would be hard for most houseplants to tolerate

You can keep them out for the spring (make sure to have yellow sticky fly traps and have them elevated off the ground so ants can’t get in) but the very first day that the temperature goes above 90-95 degrees depending on the plants you’ll want to move them back in

I agree with this advice. Wanted to add- check the plant over for pests when you bring it inside. Sometimes bugs can catch a ride inside and spread to other plants!

Oh yep completely agree!

i live in texas where the temps are similar to your’s and the only things that live through the summer are big trees and well-established succulents. like Andrew said, it depends on which plant but if your plants are doing well inside your house, moving them outside will be tough for them

My temperatures averaged 100°F for several weeks last summer. I kept my plants on a covered patio and watered at least once a day because the soil dried so quickly especially in the 4” and 6” pots. Only the old ponytail palm tree sat in full sun.

Did you have any luck?
I also live in AZ, but anything i put outside just gives up 😂
