I’ve also been thinking of chopping this one back just bc I liked how it looked more as a shorty.  
I’ve never chopped a cacti tho so I’m curious as to whether I just chop \& transplant directly into the medium? Any advice is appreciated.

After you cut, allow the wound to callous over. After the wound is callous you can place in your soil and wait for roots.

Sorry, you were the only one with any feedback \& I’m wondering will the stump continue to grow after the cut or will it stay as is?

The stump will produce new growth aka pup. This will happen from an areola. The pup, new tip will continue to grow upwards. Hope this make sense.
