Flowering? But why on the side? Mine gets the same hairy-like but on top. But then, this looks like Astrophytum Asteria... Maybe it flowers differently? Let's wait and see 😃 I have a Sand Dollar but it's still a baby, so I wouldn't know how it flowers.

Yours it preparing to flower 🌼 congrats! The hairs are normal and just a part of the flowering process. Don’t worry 😉👍
