I don’t think it’s almost dead.  
Personally I’d put it in a smaller, plastic pot with good drainage.  
Here’s my Zebra plants.

Although your plant looks like an aloe, I’d still recommend using a smaller pot.

I’ve got 4 aloe’s in this pot.
