Help please… what are theses spots on my succulent? I’m following the directions from Planta, so am I missing something here? There are 2 different areas of concern? Black hole and brown spot 🥹 she’s in my greenhouse under grow lights with a heater set auto to 63 Degrees

Is that a jade plant? Jade plants get white mineral buildup if you water them with tap water.

Ya it is a variegated jade plant.

Then that's pry wat it is. Nothing to worry about.

I’ve found with variegated jades that they’re especially prone to edema, especially in the colder months. That could be an explanation for the brown spots, so you could try to aerate the soil and keep the soil from getting cold after waterings by avoiding drafty or colder spots in the greenhouse. Another possibility is if water has gotten onto the leaves during watering, then been exposed to bright direct light indoors or outside. Hope this helps!

Ohhh, I think I may have hit it with the water when watering it. ☹️ should I take the leaves off that are damaged?

The affected leaves won’t recover after this, but you don’t need to remove them unless you really can’t stand seeing them. If it’s edema, though, you don’t want to remove any leaves until edema is ruled out or stops continuing to affect the leaves. As for watering, I’ve found using a chopstick to poke and widen holes into the soil for better aeration, and bottom watering when the soil has completely dried out to help remedy the edema.
