# I feel like Tom Hanks in Castaway every time I'm present for a plant…

_Pubblicato da Dave\_opuntiaface il 2024-03-04_

I feel like Tom Hanks in Castaway every time I'm present for a plant doing positive stuff. Like, "I have made fire!" I have successfully been present and set up conditions to allow this plant with the big name to grow some roots and regenerate.

These new leaves are popping up like crazy, and I can’t stop high-fiving myself and the plant. I’m pleased at this vision lol.

New season, new head. 36-year-old Pachypodium lamerei (Madagascar Palm) y'all.

Hey Dave! I remember that guy from a little while back. Hi five man, nice job!

Woo. I’m happy someone remembers. It was a 30-pound paperweight with one single leaf until a few weeks ago. This happened and I considered making an altar 🙏

Thanks! And SUDDENLY so nice. I’m always telling stories of seeing these in shops. “It’s like twelve-feet tall with a head of leaves reaching for a tiny window.” And now I have one!
