# I have had this Echeveria gibbiflora for about three months and it…

_Pubblicato da U-S il 2024-05-06_

I have had this Echeveria gibbiflora for about three months and it has always slightly tilted over toward the top. Recently its leaves (particularly the lower ones) are soft, mushy, and wrinkled. Several have shriveled up entirely and I’ve removed them, but the remaining lower leaves haven’t changed color much at all - still green.
The plant is about 5 inches tall, sits basically right in the windowsill, and is in a 3in tall x 3in diameter cup with drainage. I water it every 8 days (as recommended by this app).

Any thoughts on saving this plant?

You most likely have root rot. From what I can see, your soil is to dense. A good rule of thumb for succulents is to mix 1:1 soil and drainage (pumice, granite, any small pebbles) Your plant is also stretched out, that happens when it’s not receiving enough light. You need to un pot, rinse very well and cut away all “mushy” parts. Let it dry for a day and pot it in new soil. Don’t water for a week! Then slowly increase the amount of light and water when the soil is completely dry. I do mean bone dry. Hope this helps 👍

A couple of questions to start with, what kind of soil, how long have you had it, and are you sure of its name? The pink makes me think it’s a perle von nurnburg. Can you post a picture of the top to verify? Here’s a picture of some baby perle von nurburgs that grew in low light conditions to give you a reference point. The leaning and stretching you are seeing means it needs more light.

Also, just fyi, if you don’t put the type of pot and soil, planta can’t even give you close to the correct recommendations.😊

I have found that this app is not always the best for watering schedules, even with correct pot/soil information. You’re over watering.
