# Confused on next step with my succulent. Hi everyone I got this suc…

Confused on next step with my succulent. Hi everyone I got this suc from a school event and it started off doing horrible. Since I moved it’s window and started watering it less it’s been doing really well. I’m a little worried about it though because when it was unhealthy it got very elongated. Will it be ok to continue to grow like this or do I need to figure out how to propagate it?

you can leave it like this if you would like. if you dont like the etoliated look, you can cut right below the etioliated bits, and take a few of the leaves off, which should leave you with enough of a stem for it to be able to grow roots (about an inch or so). you can put these cuttings right back in the pot, as the leftover stems should grow more sprouts!

dont throw away the leaves you took off, either! you can lay them right on some soil, and simply letting them be. they should grow roots and some little pups! some people like to mist them, but personally i dont, as they get all the water they need from the mother leaf. when the original leaf has dried up and you can easily pull off the pup, you can give the babies their own home! make sure the pot you put them in is a reasonable sized pot, maybe an inch or two in diameter. or, you can put them with the rest of the other plants!

the one thing i would want to check is the pot size in comparison to the roots. the pot should be 1-2 inches bigger than the root ball. give it a nice chunky, well draining succulant mix, and water when completly dry!
