# Can anyone tell me what these black bumps are on my button of towers,…

Can anyone tell me what these black bumps are on my button of towers, and what it is I need to do, if anything. I've tried to use a QTip to wipe them off but they are really stuck on, like part of the leaves.

Black spots on a Crassula perforata ( also called "String of Buttons"), typically means it is being overwatered. If a plant receives too much water, the leaves can develop dark spots due to root rot and/or moisture stress. Just make sure it has proper drainage and you only water it when the top inch of the soil is dry. Hope this helps ☺️

There are also other reasons or black spots but overwatering is the most common.

Definitely over watering. It could have kept into a fungal issue. After repotting and taking off any dead roots. Spray with a 1:3 peroxide

Thanks for the correction on the name 👍. I'm recovering from an illness and my words get jumbled sometimes 🤪. Drainage is most probably the issue than, I'll rethink his home. Thanks for the tips all!!
