Make sure to let the soil dry all of the way out before watering! Then they should be fine good luck!

My main concern is their on my back patio. In Florida we can get a lot of rain, but there is a part of the patio that has a covering. Should I move it?

Yes! Succulents are meant to be indoors! They can’t ever have direct sunlight or it will burn them!

this is not true… most succulents need tons of direct light, at least 8 hours, otherwise they will etiolate or stretch to reach the sun. there are a few lower light succulents, like haworthia/haworthiopsis, gasteria, and dracaena trifasciata or snake plants. in my region, most succulents have to be outdoors in direct sun or under a strong grow light for 12+ hours per day for healthy, compact growth

I’ve put my succulents out before and it’s always shriveled up

#### Plant Father님이 2024-03-05에 답변했습니다.

all plants need to be gradually acclimated to full sun outdoors, which is likely why yours shriveled. full sun indoors (like a south facing window) is great for succulents in more tropical climates, it’s just too dark in the house for most in my region.
i would recommend slowly introducing yours to more direct light and watch to see how much faster they grow in full sun ☀️

I can try lol I basically have 90+F very humid summers but they are all in a SW facing window

That’s my summer temp and my succulents love it. Try it this summer, you’ll be amazed how much they grow!

I put all my succulents outside once it’s warm enough (I live in Atlanta) and they flourish! My biggest concern about your pot is that there are full sun plants and part sun plants mixed together. Some are going to thrive and some are not.

Thanks. I just picked all I thought were cute 🤣. Then I downloaded this app

I suggest moving one of the rosette shaped succulents to the middle of the pot and moving the plant that’s currently in the middle (the sedum, AKA burros tail), to the outside near the rim of the container as that variety will grow long and hang over the side, so pretty!
I’m in Florida as well, there’s a good chance that your sucs were purchased from a garden center that had them outdoors already. If this is the case, they’ll be fine outside right away. If not, you may need to acclimate them a bit.
I recommend a spot outdoors where they can see the sun very well, but the sun can’t see them. Does that make sense? Lol
Beautiful arrangement! Good luck to you \<3

Thanks so much. I purchased them from Home Depot. I’m going to check again which one is the rosette. Since you’re also a Florida succulent mama, What about the rain? It’s not bad now. If you water and then get a ton of rain ☔️, that is my main concern. Is your succulents outside, but have an overhead covering?

I keep mine under a covered patio so that I can control how much moisture they get.
I have a small arrangement, it started bigger but I had to remove several as they grew so big they overtook others. Your fire sticks for instance (the tallest one) will likely get too big for your arrangement after a while, they do enjoy full direct sun and the entire plant will turn shades of red, orange, yellow if it gets enough sun. But, it’ll be fine for now and will add some texture for you!
Rosettes are any succulent that grows in the shape of a rose, it looks like yours are Echeveria. Those typically grow upward, while the sedum in the middle won’t have a strong enough stem to grow upward and will enjoy growing downward.
Any of them that feel thick and waxy can get sun burned, the one in the middle and the purple colored one, so just keep your eye on them and adjust as needed.
I recommend the YouTube channel Garden Answer if you ever need info or inspo, she makes great arrangements and has information on chop \& prop and all that fun stuff!

What the heavens. Well done on your diversity and inclusion, but that pencil cactus (the fire stick one) could over take the whole presence of the neighborhood. It becomes wild branching everywhere. Like frost on a window just shooting out arms that grow arms that grow arms.

Did you make this?
Or buy it this way?

🤣🤣🤣. I arranged it myself. First time succulent mom. With anything new there will be trial and error. I’m loving the tips and advice
