Are pineapples considered a succulent?

Yes, a pineapple is a succulent. It's also a bromeliad, and while the term "succulent" isn't a formal plant classification, it refers to plants that store water in their tissues to survive dry periods, which pineapples do. Specifically, they store water in their thick, fleshy leaves.
