You can literally put It in Cacti soil and it Will grow roots! If you propagated them in water it can Cause Rotting (at least in my experience) if I propagate them in water, I usually have to do a system where they sit up where the outside isn’t touching water, but the base (root Area) would be only touching the Water its complicated so I usually just throw in soil haha

You can get long tweezers or cacti gloves so you don’t poke yourself when trying to propagate/repot I would suggest soil because it’s easier and you don’t have to watch it as much. Just treat it like how you did before I throw potting soil (if you go down that route). Report carefully water it leave it. :) there’s also videos on YouTube of how to propagate cacti either both in water or soil!

I will definitely have to use tweezers! 😅 I’ll have to check out YouTube. I take it the soil should still dry out?

Actually came here with the exact same Q. Mine started growing thin tendrils before the roots fell apart though. Been keeping it like this but just put them in soil 🤞

Just put the trimmings in water and they will grow back

Put it in a sand-filled tray
