FYI if there are mushrooms growing in your succulent or cactus pots, that is not good. I’ve seen so much misinformation spread here.

Mushroom thrive in wet, damp soil. Succulents and cacti are native to arid regions or deserts. These two are incompatible with each other. Your soil being healthy enough to support mushrooms doesn’t matter when there’s way too much moisture that will eventually kill your succulents and cacti.

Same goes for fungus gnats! My mom's succulents are infested and I told her fungus gnats are a sign of overwatering. Letting the soil dry completely will both be better for the plants and get rid of the gnats!
