I have a few Thanksgiving cactus that I’ve grown from cuttings. I recently noticed that one of my plants (pictured in the foreground) has become very pale. You can see my other plant in the background and the leaves are dark and healthy. Does anyone know what pale leaves indicate?

In the second photo, you can clearly see how rich the green was on the tip of the leaf, and the rest is pale.

these look pretty good to me. the newest leaves will always be a bit lighter until they mature

It looks normal. You can try giving it more light to see if it makes a difference.

I appreciate everyone’s input. Perhaps my photos are not really revealing what I see. It’s such a pale green. I’ve added a grow light for now and will see if it helps.

Are you fertilizing these? Yellowing of new leaves but not old ones indicates the plant could be lacking one of the immobile nutrients - typically Calcium, Sulphur or Iron.

Calcium is not always included in commercial fertilizers because many people have enough Calcium in their tap water - but if you don’t, you’ll need to ensure you provide some every now and then.

Sulphur and Iron are usually provided in fertilizers in sufficient amounts (plants don’t need much), but plants can have trouble taking those nutrients up if the pH is wrong. So it is worthwhile checking the pH of your soil too - Christmas cactuses prefer something in the 6-7 ph range.

Not guaranteed to be your issue, but worth looking in to.

Thanks so much! I will do a pH test. I just repotted it this week and used cactus and succulent soil. I’m hoping as it adjusts to its new pot that I might seem changes.
