Is something wrong with my Gollum Guy? Keeps dropping pieces. He’s always been so healthy. I wondered if this was a normal thing?

Wow this plant is gorgeous! I’ve never seen one this big before. Sorry it’s dropping so much. I’m not good with succulents so I don’t have much to offer other than checking for pests.

Your plant has great shape. Something jade growers try to achieve. But back to your question. Just looking at the fallen leaves, I would best guess overwatering. I don’t have a leaf drop issue with mine. Another possibility is needing more light. Usually gollums have some colorations at their leaf tips.

I have the same plant but I was told it's a Skinny Fingers not a Gollum. The attached photo is my three babies grown from three single leaves. A year or two ago I cut Mom away back so she would branch more. I occasionally get powdery mildew on some leaves. I remove the affected leaves and spray with Neem oil once a week for four weeks and it disappears. I prune it so there's space between the leaves to help keep the powdery mildew at bay. I don't use soil for my succulents either. I use bonsai soil which prevents me from over watering.

Occasionally dropping is normal. A lot in a short amount of time is not.

When is the last time you checked the roots? Could be time for an upsize. Your plant is hefty lol

Jades like to be root bound, but with mine if they start dropping leaves, and there is no other issues, they usually need to upsize.

The usual rule of thumb is if you have more than 50% roots to soil ratio it’s time to upsize. Got up 1-2” larger than the root ball. I like to repot mine 1-2 days after a watering. It keeps the rootball intact and easy to put into its new pot.

Thanks so much everyone. I did notice some mildew on my jade, which is right next to the Gollum. So I wondered if it spread a bit 😬
I repotted it early summer. But it has grown QUICKLY! I’ll have to check the roots.
It’s DEF a hefty one
