# I am very new to plants and it doesn’t seem that I have a green thumb…

I am very new to plants and it doesn’t seem that I have a green thumb 😅 can anyone help me? I don’t think I over water my plants, I maybe underwater them honestly. Are all my succulents dead 😩

succulents need really good drainage and some succulents can be watered as far as a month in between watering and be happy because they hold water in their leaves

another thing i can think of is the pots may be too big for the roots of the plants. they only need about of inch or space in between the roots and pots so that the roots don’t start to rot. I hope this helps!

Thank you so much! I might have to get some different pots then. Do they all look like they’re still alive?

the very top one can be saved, but you need to act quickly or it will die. the bottom two are dead :(

I would also make sure they have enough light. While they aren’t stretched out as is common with plants without enough light it is easier to overwater with an insufficient amount of light. I unfortunately killed several succulents because they were in too shaded of a spot and I didn’t catch it until I had overwatered them just enough to cause rot and they died.
