I’m a beginner in the plant world, but I got this succulent about a week ago and it’s got this dusty look to its leaves as well as some brown spots on them as shown in photos. I’ve seen a couple gnat-like bugs on/around the plant and I’m just not sure if it’s got some sort of pest or not. Thoughts? And advice what I should do if that is the case? I’m not too keen on the idea of using insecticides…

I can’t diagnose it 💯 but if you want to treat it, you can use a few natural remedies and see if it helps. I personally use sulfur powder and mix it with water and spray the leaves. Others use copper soap or neem oil mixed with castor soap.

Something like neem oil might help? I’m not completely sure though

I agree with it likely being fungus gnats, so be extra careful about overwatering. The dusty look is nothing ominous- it’s simply dirty! Use a damp washcloth to wipe the leaves down and it will look much better! Just make sure water doesn’t sit on the leaves because succulents hate that.
