Can anyone help me me identify what my succulent is? I’ve had it almost 3 years, left is when I first got it and right is now... Please be kind, I’m just now realizing it’s maybe not getting the sun it should 🥹

Looks like Echeveria purpusorum. It definitely wants more light — it’s very etiolated.

Thank you, that is what it looked like as a baby.

New growth might look better, but the old growth will stay how it is. You can either keep it this way, or chop and prop (i.e., cut off a decent portion of the top so it grows new roots from the stem).

If I cut. Will the bottom piece continue to live?

#### Adrienne respondió el 2023-12-27

Yes it will! It’s actually more secure because it’s already rooted. When I’ve done this in the past, I occasionally lose the top that I chopped off (sometimes it just doesn’t root successfully), but the bottom has always been fine. For example, here is my Echeveria ‘Perle von Nurnberg’ regrowing after I beheaded her :)

Thank you for sharing!!! I feel better considering this option now!! She’s very special to me so I’m hesitant.
