# i’m not sure what kind of cactus i have! i’m thinking he’s a rat tail…

i’m not sure what kind of cactus i have! i’m thinking he’s a rat tail cactus but the clusters of spines don’t look as tight as that one so i’m not sure. anyone smarter than me have an idea? he’s got 2-3 different shades of green going on here too—the brighter green is the new growth since i’ve gotten him from a friend in feb last year. (also, is it normal for the tendrils to grow off one another like that?) TIA for all responses !!

The older parts might die off but I’m not sure. I would propagate some cuttings just in case but it seems fine right now.

i got info from other places and also looked at pics and i think this is more accurate. from what i learned, he’s also sunburnt :( so i may have to propagate some trimmings and start him over :( thanks for the help!

Good luck with it. I had one for a few years that I just lost to rust☹️finding the exact lighting that it needed was difficult too.  
I never really got it to thrive, I hope you can!
