What’s the best soil or soil combo to use for repotting a wide variety of plants?

That’s what I did on my first eight

I have made a combination of: seed starter potting soil, cactus mix, orchid mix and perlite. It seems to work well with all my plants. I actually bought an 8qt bag of each and poured them all in a reusable grocery bag and mixed it up.

Yes combos do so much better

I was thinking about doing a mixture of a bunch of different soils

That’s what I find works the best. If you get a few ingredients on hand, you can change the ratios for different types of plants. I’d say a good basic combo would be a base (potting soil or worm castings) and aeration (perlite, pumice, or leca). You may want additions for specific types of plants if you have them (coco husks or orchid bark for aroids and epiphytes. Sand or clay chips for cactuses and succulents. Sphagnum moss for tropicals)

Awesome! Thank you every one
