# I have no idea what this stem is or why the little thing is getting…

I have no idea what this stem is or why the little thing is getting so long…. What should I do? 😅 (I think he’s an aloe aristata, his name is Dragula like the Rob Zombie song)

Leave it alone, or cut it off. Up to you! The stem is called an inflorescence, and it’s your plant’s way of telling you it’s happy.

I always leave mine and see how crazy they get; they’ll often have flowers too. Some people cut them for aesthetics, or because the flower can attract aphids. Mostly preference though!
